Safety and content rules

Last updated 3 November 2026

Your shirt makes it easy to say hi. These are the rules and tips that keep it fun.

Safety first

  • People aren’t always who they say they are. Profiles can be fake.
  • Be careful with strangers, online and in person.
  • Don’t put your last name, email, home address, workplace, or your running schedule or route on your shirt or scan page.
  • Meet in a busy public place. Tell a friend where you’re going, and get there and home on your own.
  • Trust your gut. If something feels off, leave.

SINGLE FILE RUN CLUB DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS ON THE PEOPLE WHO BUY OR WEAR ITS SHIRTS, OR ON ANYONE WHO CONTACTS THEM THROUGH A SCAN PAGE.

Why the QR code is the default

A QR code can be changed or switched off. A printed number can’t.

  • Mark yourself Taken or Paused from your manage link; it works the moment you tap it.
  • Your scan stats are counts only: never who scanned, where, or when.
  • If you print a number, think about a second number from a calling and texting app, so you can change it later.
  • Ask your carrier for a port-out PIN or number lock, so nobody can move your number to another phone.

What you can’t print or post

  • Someone else’s name, number or photo.
  • Dating-app or brand names, logos or slogans.
  • Sexual content, or offers of sex or money.
  • Anything involving someone under 18.
  • Hate, threats or harassment.
  • Links, emails, or numbers anywhere except the phone option.

How we enforce it

Automatic checks as you type, a person who reviews every order before it’s printed, and reports from anyone. We cancel orders that break the rules (you’re never charged), switch off QR codes, and block numbers from being printed again.

Report a shirt or a number

Use the report form. A person reads every report within 24 hours. Anything involving someone under 18 comes first: we usually switch the QR code off at once while we look.

If your own number was printed without your consent, say so on the form and we’ll block it.

If you’re in danger

Call 911 first. We can’t respond at emergency speed.

Law enforcement

Law enforcement can reach us at hello@date-card.app. We keep records when someone’s safety is at risk, and share them only for valid legal process or an emergency.
